Volkswagen Golf Replacement Ignition Lock Housing Information
The ignition lock housing, also called the "ignition switch case", or the "lock cylinder case" is an integral part of the ignition lock assembly in the Volkswagon Golf. If the ignition fails to function due to damage, a broken or warped key, or wear from extensive key rotation, the ignition lock housing may be the simplest thing to replace. One tell tale symptom of a faulty ignition lock housing is the free turning of the key in the ignition with no response from the vehicle. It is not uncommon in the Volkswagon Golf. By replacing only the lock housing rather than the entire ignition lock complex, one saves money and time and avoids having to match the ignition key to a new part. This replacement ignition lock housing is intended for use in the Volkswagon Golf, and does not include keys or key lock cylinders.
