Jaguar XJ12 Replacement Ignition Coil Information
A Jaguar XJ12 with a bad ignition coil can be harmful to your car. Your XJ12 will still look classically sleek and powerful, but will not run without the strong spark provided by a working ignition coil. The ignition coil is engineered to combat the rigors of constant exposure to electricity. It's made of heavy duty material that will eventually wear down. That's when recognizable symptoms of a failed ignition coil become apparent.
The obvious issues of a bad ignition coil include a sluggish sputtering engine, an exhaust that backfires, failure to start, lousy gas mileage numbers and misfires when heading down the road. Identifying a possible failed ignition coil is made easier by using a multi-meter. It measures the amount of resistance, electricity flow and voltage.
