Toyota Celica Replacement Idle Control Valve Information
Also known as the "Idle Air Control Valve" or "IACV", the idle control valve of your Toyota Celica is responsible for allowing air into the engine when the car is in the idle position. In motion, particularly at freeway speeds, enough air enters the engine through the front grill to keep the engine sufficiently cool and functioning. At idle, the idle air control valve is needed. If you observe high or particularly low RPMs while at a stoplight, but problems disappear when you begin to accelerate, you may have a problem with your idle air control valve. Idle control valves become clogged, and adequate air cannot pass through them. ALthough they can be cleaned, it is generally recommended that Toyota Celica owners simply replace the valve altogether. This replacement idle control valve is a factory quality replacement part that fits into the existing mounts in the Toyota Celica.
