Chrysler Concorde Replacement Head Gasket Information
Your Chrysler Concorde's head gasket is responsible for maintaining the pressure that allows compression to take place within your vehicle's cylinder chambers. The head gasket is a heavy steel seal that sits right over the junction between your cylinder head and your engine block. Your head gasket is subjected to immense amounts of heat and can crack if temperatures become too extreme. If this happens, coolant will begin leaking out of engine block channels, causing your engine to overheat. You'll notice distinctive white exhaust fumes with a strong smell of antifreeze. This is coolant vaporizing against the hot engine block. You will also notice performance problems since internal combustion processes will not longer be taking place under optimal conditions.
