Mercedes 300E Replacement Head Bolt Information
An interesting piece of trivia for Mercedes-Benz 300E owners is the meaning of the letter 'E', placed after the number 300, that stands for the German word 'Einspritzmotor', which is their way of saying 'fuel-injected engine'. When the E-series Mercedes first appeared, fuel injection was a relatively new feature in production automobiles and the E designation placed after the model number was indicative of a car utilizing this type of fuel delivery system. By 1993, when the last of the 300Es came off the production line, all Mercedes had fuel injected engines and, with the introduction of the new E-Class, the letter 'E' was moved to the front of the model number, i.e., E320 instead of 300E. Knowing your 300E was produced between 1986-1993 means it's somewhere between 17-25 years old. If it's still on the road and going strong this is no coincidence. These cars were built for longevity and durability, which is one reason so many European taxi drivers opted for this model. When replacing parts, such as when you need new Mercedes 300E head bolts, don't neglect your car by getting anything but top quality replacements. Here, it doesn't pay to skimp.
