Anyone driving a third-generation Chevrolet Camaro or a fourth-generation model with the rear hatchback is certainly aware of the presence of a pair of hatch struts that hold the rear glass in the open position and also ease the opening and closing of the hatch. These struts, which are sort of like miniature shock absorbers, operate hydraulically and require good seals to be able to withstand the weight and pressure put on them in the performance of their duty. When the seals start to go, the struts are no longer able to function as designed. They may not be able to adequately withstand the weight of the hatch, which may end up coming down on someone's back or head while in the process of loading or unloading the trunk. I did find it difficult to determine if I was buying the right part based on the information. Maybe better pics would help. Also, for the shipping cost I thought it might at least come in a box rather than saran wrap. Overall a great experience though - would definately use again.
