Dodge Sprinter 3500 Replacement Glow Plugs Information
A glow plug is used in vehicles, such as the Dodge Sprinter, that operate on diesel fuel. Since diesel engines do not use spark plugs, glow plugs are employed to heat things up.The glow plug is shaped like a pencil and is made from a heat-resistant metal.A heating element with a temperature sensor is on one of its ends. When the plug is on, it warms the engine, much like the heating elements warm up an oven. The vehicle can be started once the engine block is warm enough, which takes from two to three seconds. If your engine refuses to start after turning over, chances are good that your glow plugs are no longer working properly. This is the time to check them to see if they need to be replaced
