Toyota Land Cruiser Replacement Fuel Pressure Regulator Information
Essential to maintaining fuel pressure and engine power, the Land Cruiser Toyota fuel pressure regulator has to work perfectly. Controlling fuel flow based on computer calculations, the Land Cruiser Toyota fuel pressure regulator allows fuel injectors to adjust the intervals at which they open and close, to achieve optimal fuel to air ratios. The regulator employs a diaphragm to negate spring pressure in the injectors letting the injectors open or close. Meanwhile, one line leads to the regulator from the fuel tank while a return fuel line goes from the regulator to the injectors. As fuel pressure drops, the regulator increases fuel flow. Regulators don't fail often, but when they do the car may emit thick black smoke and oil from the tail pipe, mileage will drop and the car may stall. The part can't be repaired, so Toyota Land Cruiser owners have to replace it completely.
