Infiniti QX4 Replacement Expansion Tank Information
The expansion tank on your Infiniti QX4 is so named because it collects the expanding fluid escaping from the car's radiator when it becomes heated to boiling. Also referred to as the engine coolant recovery tank, this reservoir is made from plastic and prone to become brittle and break or develop cracks as a result of cold weather and its constant contact with boiling hot contents. If and when your car's coolant recovery tank becomes no longer water tight, a new one will need to be purchased and installed.
