Dodge Intrepid Replacement Engine Mount Information
The Dodge Intrepid was a very popular sedan that was later replaced by the Charger, but the Intrepid was on the Ten Best list in 1993 and 1994. This car used a powerful internal combustion engine that needed to be kept in place. All cars need an engine mount to prevent the engine from moving around under the hood and to support the weight of this vital part. Engine mounts are typically made of two pieces of metal that are separated by a layer of rubber. The first piece of metal is secured to the engine while the second is attached to the body of the car. This helps distribute the weight and provide extra stability for the engine. The layer of rubber is in place to increase the lifespan of the mount and absorb vibrations.
