BMW 525i Replacement Control Arm Bushing Information
To European automobile enthusiasts, the handling of a well-maintained BMW 325i is like a dream. These cars were so well engineered, powerful and agile that when something doesn't feel just right it soon becomes readily apparent. If one of your BMW 325i control arm bushings begins to show signs of wear, the symptoms could display themselves in a few different ways. Because a bushing is a metal cylinder containing a tough rubber 'donut' inside, it's not uncommon for this rubber to eventually rot, split or crack, causing the internal, smaller metal cylinder to have excessive play. This allows the control arm, which is attached to the control arm bushing interior cylinder as a means of damping vibration, to experience excessive movement. And ill-functioning BMW 325i control arm bushing will translate to a rougher ride, a clunking noise when going over bumps and may also affect vehicle steering and wheel alignment. These bushings are an important part of your car's suspension system and faulty units should be replaced before other, ancillary damage is caused. In replacing worn bushings on your Beemer, you have the choice of using a stock part available from the original manufacturer or an aftermarket part from other manufacturers. Durable polyurethane has now replaced the rubber on some versions.
