Mazda MX6 Replacement Clutch Information
Do you need a new clutch for your MazdaMX6? There are two plates that can be found in your clutch system. The pressure plate is connected to the gearbox through an axle and receives the force generated by an actuator. The friction plate is connected to the crankshaft. The clutch connects and disconnects the two plates. Modern clutches last for over 80,000 miles. Without proper maintenance, they can start to break down at 35,000 miles. Sometimes the friction material on the clutch disc wears out. You may also notice a burning odor or foul smell when the clutch temperature gets too hot. Other common problems include a grinding noise, slipping gears while shifting, and oil on the cylinder. The pedal may lose some its normal resistance as you press it down. Product Note: MZC900; FMD003U; BRG091 Mazda OE kit is KA22-16-490-MV, and indeed contains a 225mm disc, MZD007US. Daikin does not sell the MZD007US to the aftermarket and is intended for OE S (dealers) only. Apparently some OE clutch discs are 225mm and some are 215mm. This kit cont ains a 215mm disc. Please measure the clutch disc before ordering. Daikin does not offer the clutch kit containing a 225mm clutch disc, but they do quarantee that their 215mm disc will work. Same goes for the individual dis c FMD003U. If customer insists on the 225mm disc, they should order KA22-16 -490-MV from the dealer.
