In cars with an automatic transmission, a Chrysler PT Cruiser Clutch is incorporated into a transmission system, however manual transmissions call for the driver to engage the clutch on their own, usually through a pedal close to the brake pedal. Although the clutch is a long-lasting component, over time the friction-bearing elements can cease to work and require repair. Clutches enable the driver to switch gears by temporarily disconnecting the car's transmission from its engine. A Clutch is a key piece of a vehicle's transmission allowing your current gear to be disengaged from your vehicle's drive shaft to enable another greater or smaller gear to be used. A functioning Clutch helps the driver switch gears by using the engine flywheel and friction discs; when the clutch pedal is depressed, the components become disjointed, disconnecting the vehicle's engine from the wheels which allows it to spin free.
