Positioned within your exhaust system of your car, your Acura Legend Catalytic Converter works to reduce the overall harmful emissions of a vehicle by catalyzing a chemical reaction in your vehicle's emissions. Catalytic Converters function by oxidizing pollutants into H20 and CO2, via a chemical catalyst, such as platinum, rhodium, or palladium, and venting the treated exhaust through the exhaust valve. Although tough, a converter sometimes needs repair, usually because it is struck from beneath the vehicle. Effectively functioning Catalytic Converters are essential in order to fulfill EPA regulations for car running. A Catalytic Converter is a device which reduces the quantity of nitrogen oxide gas emitted from your car's exhaust, allowing your car to pass your state emissions test.
