Mitsubishi Eclipse Replacement Camshaft Position Sensor Information
The engine camshaft position sensor on your Mitsubishi Eclipse is an integral component of the engine performance system and supplies important information needed by the car's engine computer (ECU). By being continually aware to the position of the camshaft, the computer is able to extrapolate the positioning of the valves and pistons that the camshaft operates. Without accurate data related to piston and valve position, the computer would be unable to properly order the firing in the combustion chambers, which is critical to engine operation.
