Jaguar XJ12 Replacement Brake Rotors Information
The Jaguar XJ12 belongs to the XJ line of luxury sedans that have been available since 1968. The XJ12 offers drivers a smooth ride and the power to handle the roads. This car uses disc brakes which rely heavily on the brake pads and brake rotors. Brake rotors are an easy part to spot by looking into the hub of the wheel. These are large pieces of steel that are round and rotate with the wheels. The pads are mounted on either side of the rotors and when the brakes are activated the pads rub against the rotors to slow the rotation of the wheels. Most modern rotors also have holes in the steel to help reduce the buildup of heat while stopping. This reduces wear on the brake pads as well as the rotors.
