When the blower motor resistor is beginning to fail, you will notice that the air in the cabin of your Lincoln Town Car does not blow or only blows intermittently when your car is accelerating at certain rates. The blower motor resistor is made up of three resistors that engage as your car creates electrical current during its operation. When the car is cruising, the amount of electric current produced is less. If the blower motor resistor is giving out, cruising will not create enough electricity to power the fan. The three resistors have coils over which electricity passes to power the fan that blows air into the cabin of your Lincoln Town Car. As the blower motor resistor begins to give out, the distance between the coils grows greater. When the distance becomes too great for the electricity to travel across, that air blowing setting will no longer function.
