Acura TL Replacement Blower Motor Resistor Information
The blower motor and resistor are important parts of the heating ventilation and air conditioning setup in Acura cars. The Acura TL blower motor resistor intercepts the electricity being supplied to the blower motor and passes it through resistors to weaken or strengthen the current as required by the occupants. Increased resistance will reduce current and will lower fan speed. Decreased resistance will work inversely. Resistors generate a lot of heat and this is why every Acura TL blower motor resistor comes with an inbuilt heat sink. The frequent change in temperature is one reason why the resistor starts malfunctioning. Fan operation at one speed and frequent automatic changes in fan speed are signs that the resistor needs to be replaced. The Acura TL blower motor resistor is often positioned under the steering wheel or behind the HVAC main module. Avoid violent jerks when removing the resistor to protect the wires from getting ripped out. Difficulty in sliding the component into occurs when the blower motor resistor is not placed in the right position in the slot.
