Lexus RX300 Replacement Air Mass Sensor Information
The air mass sensor in your Lexus RX300 calibrates the amount of air that flows into your vehicle's engine. Your engine combines the oxygen in that air with fuel to create the energy that powers your car. The air mass sensor is typically located at the front of your engine on the air filter. It consists of a wire element that heats up or cools down depending upon how much air is flowing into the engine. When your Lexus RX300's air mass sensor isn't functioning properly, the "Check Engine" light on the instrument panel of your dashboard will flash on. You may also notice that your vehicle is significantly harder to start, and that it has a tendency to start and immediately stall. You can diagnose the problem with a code scanner if you own one.
