Mercedes E320 Replacement AC Receiver Drier Information
Your Mercedes E320's AC receiver drier is part of the air conditioning system that cools your vehicle's interior on a hot summer day. The AC compressor acts as a reservoir for compressed gaseous refrigerant. When you turn on your air conditioning, this gas flows into the AC condenser where it's cooled and undergoes a phase change from gas to liquid. When it emerges from the AC condenser, refrigerant is at a temperature of 32 degrees Fahrenheit and ready to be processed by the AC evaporator to cool your Mercedes E320'spassenger compartment. Before refrigerant can be travel into the AC evaporator, however, every last drop of water must be removed fro it. This takes place inside the AC receiver drier. The AC receiver drier contains a silicon-based desiccant that sucks out moisture so that ice crystals won't form. PartsGeek.com sells AC receivers for the Mercedes E320.
