Subaru Impreza Replacement AC Expansion Valve Information
Keeping the driver and passengers comfortable inside the vehicle no matter how hot it is outside makes the Impreza Subaru AC expansion valve a valuable vehicle component. The Impreza Subaru expansion valve regulates the amount of liquid refrigerant going through the AC evaporator core. This is important for optimal operation of the interior AC system. Should the valve let in too much refrigerant, the system will flood. Should it provide too little refrigerant, the system will ice over the evaporator's aluminum tube.
The evaporator core has a sensing bulb in its fins telling the Impreza Subaru AC expansion valve when it needs to operate. Produced since 1992, the Subaru Impreza needs the AC expansion valve replaced should it fail.
