Kia Amanti Replacement AC Compressor Information
The AC compressor on your Kia Amanti is one of the main components of the car's air conditioning system, along with the condenser and the evaporator. The compressor, as suggested by the name, compresses the refrigerant used in the AC system, pressurizing it to about 250 psi, until it gets quite hot (about 160 degrees F). The high temperature gas is then sent to the condenser, where much of the heat is given off to the atmosphere, turning the gas into a cooler liquid, which is then sent to the evaporator.
The AC compressor is located in the front of your vehicle's engine compartment and is operated through the use of a pulley and a belt turned by the crankshaft.
