Audi A8 Quattro Replacement AC Compressor Information
The AC compressor in your A8 Quattro does exactly what it sounds as if it should do: it compresses. Your car's air conditioning system has four major components, but the primary part, without which the other three are useless, is the AC compressor. Refrigerant is pumped into the AC compressor. This liquid comes from the evaporator and is fed across a line that is in front of a fan. The fan blows the air into the cabin of your car. The air is cooled by the cold line of refrigerant. Next, the liquid enters the AC compressor, converted to a warm gas, fed into a condenser, and subsequently into an expansion device and back into the evaporator. This cycle in your A8 is powered by the AC compressor. Without the AC compressor pulling the cool liquid and pushing warm gas, your car would be unbearably hot throughout the summer.
