Ford Expedition Replacement ABS Speed Sensor Information
The ABS speed sensors on your Ford Expedition are an important feature of the vehicle anti-lock braking system because they monitor the rotational speed of each wheel and compare the speed of each wheel to the others. Whenever slippage or loss of traction occurs a signal is sent from the sensor to the ABS controller, which then activates the appropriate braking operation automatically. Introduction of anti-lock brakes was an important safety advancement in passenger vehicles, as the ABS system is capable of reacting to traction problems instantly, faster than human reaction time allows.
