Notes: To Replace Leaking Gaskets This special head gasket should be used when failure was caused by gasket leakage. Please refer to Honda service bulletin 97-047. It advises that if the head gasket is being replaced due to leakage, this is the correct replacement gasket. Also necessary are special head bolts (90005-PM3-004, 10 bolts required). If the head gasket is not leaking but is being replaced for other reasons, use gasket #12251-PM5-S02 along with the normal head bolts. Refer to the service bulletin for further installation instrustions.

Product Description

Ishino makes this 1988 to 1995 Honda Civic head gasket. A leaking gasket is a serious problem with cars. The head gasket creates a seal for the engine to allow pressure to build inside the engine for it to work properly. Engine fluids are also kept separated by the head gasket. A sign many notice when a head gasket has a leak is oil in the coolant or coolant in the oil. This Ishino head gasket does not include the bolts required for installation. Ten of those bolts must be ordered separately (part number: 90005-PM3-004). This head gasket may only be used to replace a leaking gasket; it should not be used as a replacement for a blown or otherwise damaged gasket. It should also only be installed on Honda Civic cars made from 1988 through 1995 because it may not fit on the engine of other vehicles.
