Valeo makes this alternator for use on 2002 to 2005 BMW 745i cars. Note that this 110/170 amp alternator is a remanufactured part. Though rebuilt, it still performs at a high level and will fit if installed on the make, model, and years recommended. The alternator converts energy from engine movement into AC power to recharge the battery when the car is running. Replacing the alternator may solve problems with batteries that do not appear to hold a charge or register as having no charge after the vehicle has been driven. For the best performance from this alternator, installation of this part is recommended for BMW 745i cars from 2002, 2003, 2004, and 2005.
