Strut Assembly Reviews - 2002 Toyota Tundra
Moog | ST8607L

At first I was going to buy new struts and have a shop install them in my existing springs. That would have cost me about 80 bucks on the part and 70 on the install, each. Then it dawned on me, it made sense to change the coil as well. by finding this assembly, I was able to do the install myself, replace the old springs, and save about 80 to 90 bucks in the process. I did get a little freaked out when I went to mount the strut and the orientation didn't exactly line up. Feed the three bolts thru the top, then feed the single bolt thru the bottom. Use the single bolt as a handle to crank the strut left or right till the holes line up.

Pleased with part. Arrived in good condition. Great price for complete strut assembly. New spring greatly improved height. Truck sits more level. Huge difference with ride, especially on the highway. Note it is extremely difficult to compress new strut assembly the one inch needed to get the lower bolt in. Sloped area underneath lower part of strut on truck allows pry bar to slip. Thankfully had an assortment of tapered steel rods that work great getting holes aligned.

My dealer wanted roughly $1000 to replace the front struts on my 2002 Tundra. Thanks to parts geek I got a really good price on these struts and they arrived in just a few days. These struts fit perfectly, I was able to change them by myself in just about an hour and a half. Note be sure to loosen the sway bar link, this make things much easier to install.

Parts showed up as expected & it was simple to installed. Big differences in ride quality after replacement.

The parts arrived very fast. They were good quality. The fit was very good with the left and right sides marked so as to make replacing the old ones a fairly easy job. the hardest part of the job was removing the old rusted nuts on the original struts. I also needed to lever the suspension further apart to make room for the new not sagged out strut assembly. It was worth all the effort the truck now rides great.
