Valve Cover Gasket Set Reviews - 1999 Oldsmobile 88
Felpro | VS50080R

Parts were delivered ahead of schedule. Felpro product is clearly superior to GM's OEM part, although OEM looks more heavy duty. Replaced VC gaskets because it was convenient, since everything else was being fixed due to failure of intake manifold parts. Gaskets fit snugly but precisely in the valve covers' perimeter slots, so was easy to replace covers without them falling out or fighting against distorting them. No RTV required or recommended. Clean the covers before reassembly and be sure to check for cracks and crumbling of the plastic valve covers, especially on the downhill side of the covers, as this is where a leak will occur. Don't over-tighten.
