When the pressure plate pushes the clutch disc, friction is created and this element is the one allowing your vehicle to move. A pressure plate that belongs under the Centerforce brand is round in shape. This particular centerforce II unit contains springs and levers, and these items are under the control of the release fork. As the springs are contained in the pressure plate, when you press the clutch pedal, these springs will be compressed. The compression usually reaches up to three fingers. When the compression takes place, the springs will immediately pull the pressure plate together with the clutch disc so that they are kept further distanced from the flywheel. In other words, the pressure plate plays a part in preventing the clutch disc from spinning. If you release the clutch pedal, the fingers will let go of their hold and the springs will push the pressure plate back into the clutch plate. Over time, even the best-built vehicles will break down without routine servicing and repair. On occasion the most frustrating part about working on a vehicle is searching for a good source of quality parts.
