The electronic distributorless ignition system was an exclusive system used by Ford vehicles in the 1990s. This system requires the use of an ignition coil pack with a distinctive shape to deliver a spark to each of the spark plugs. Accel makes the super EDIS ignition coil pack specifically for these vehicles. The power produced by the pack is up to 42,000 volts, which is more than the ignition pack that was installed on the vehicle by the factory. Packs may have vertical or horizontal primary connectors depending on which vehicle model year they are to be used for. If there is a problem with the ignition coil pack, the same symptoms of a bad coil will appear on your vehicle. These include idling roughly or the engine not starting. Replacing the ignition coil pack with a new one can literally put the spark back into your engine.
