Toyota Aftermarket Parts
Should you use only genuine OEM Toyota parts, or are Toyota aftermarket parts satisfactory? There are pretty good arguments on both sides of this issue, but as to whether one is better than the other...let's just say the answer isn't as cut and dried as some folks would like to think. The one issue that is, however is that PartsGeek.com offers the lowest prices on OEM and aftermarket Toyota parts – from Toyota wheels to drive train components and everything in between – and stands behind every product with a one-year warranty.
Unfortunately, some people do themselves a real disservice by dismissing aftermarket Toyota parts. Aftermarket parts are cheaper, but are also just as good (and sometimes even better) than the OEM component it's replacing. This comes as a real surprise to many people, who are accustomed to the idea that simply because something isn't made by the original factory and has a lower price, it's somehow a "cheap knockoff." Perhaps it's just memories of a time when this was often true, but times change – and you may be surprised at just how durable and reliable today's Toyota aftermarket parts really are.
Often, when it comes to Toyota parts, aftermarket versions actually perform better. Once Toyota licenses something to a third-party manufacturer, the engineers at the firm get a chance to really examine the component. Often, they come up with some substantial improvements on the original factory design.
The other part of this equation is that the competition among these third-party manufacturers is especially fierce. Anyone coming up with a product that isn't up to standards doesn't usually stay in business for very long.
The other argument against the use of aftermarket components has to do with whether or not it will void a warranty on a newer vehicle. Normally, it doesn't – provided that an aftermarket component is being used as a direct replacement for something that has broken or worn out. The only time that you might be in danger of voiding a warranty is if you are installing custom performance parts – such as a high-flow exhaust system. If you are considering doing this, make certain you have a conversation with the dealer before ordering from PartsGeek.
You'll be happy to know that PartsGeek has been around a long time – since 1996, in fact – and has had its own Internet retail outlet since 2002. Since then, we have become a leading resource for the full range of Toyota parts and accessories – everything from the tailpipe and Toyota wheels to the radiator. Our overhead is extremely low and we deal in high volume – both of which mean savings for us that we pass on to our loyal customers all over the U.S. (no foreign orders currently accepted, sorry).

Struts are fine and arrived in good shape and installed as expected but turns out a knocking noise was caused by OEM mounts being not exactly right fit for Monroe shocks. Got the mounts at another store for a lower price and now things are fine. Just out time and labor.
Parts geek did exactly what they claimed. The right parts on time!
