The Throttle Body, also known as the electronic throttle control, is an integral component of the fuel injection system. It is usually located between the intake manifold and the air filter housing and either attached to or near the mass airflow sensor. The throttle body works in conjunction with the accelerator pedal either mechanically (via a throttle cable) or electronically (via transmitter on the accelerator pedal and a solenoid on the throttle body). It regulates the amount of air flowing into the fuel injection system with the throttle plate, inside the throttle body. When this unit fails the vehicle can stall, lose power, or have a poor running condition.
