1997-2001 Ford Explorer Thermostat Housing - Dorman 902-204
The thermostat housing in the Ford Explorer is a plastic container. It consists of two halves--an upper and a lower and contains the thermostat that takes the temperature of the coolant. Because coolant passes through the housing, in the event of a housing failure, you will lose coolant pressure and eventually the reservoir will run dry, putting your engine at risk. The replacement of a leaking thermostat housing is something that can be done at home, but the right replacement parts are essential. That's why Dorman makes a Ford Explorer thermostat housing that is guaranteed to solve the problems of a leaking OEM part.
Quick shipping, quality part and great prices. What else can you say
Part was for my 03 explorer 4.0L. Part was exact, design and quality as the oem part. I am very happy with my parts experience, and will be ordering more parts in the near future. Thanks Parts Geek!
5 stars! Found the exact part I needed for a lot less than Napa. It came with the tstat too so I didn't have buy that. Great value!
Part fitment was right on point! Only problem is that the plug that was installed in case of second sensor leaked when installed. My 03 explorer came with one sensor and not two. So I used old sensor in place of dummy plug. Good I had bought a new sensor, was not close to a dealer nor had another vehicle close by to locate anything.
